Help where it's needed

For more than five years, Knorr-Bremse Global Care – the charitable organization set up by Knorr-Bremse – has been helping people in need all over the world.

Projects all over the globe are selected according to their economic effectiveness and sustainability and on the principle of helping people to help themselves. They are then implemented step by step in cooperation with local partners. The main focus is on education and training, social infrastructure as well as emergency aid.

Projects are supervised by members of Global Care and also by local Knorr-Bremse employees if there is a site in the vicinity. The Global Care member concerned is responsible for maintaining contact with local project leaders in the partner organization, monitoring progress, actively influencing the implementation process and encouraging a suitably entrepreneurial approach. This ensures that resources actually reach where they are most needed. Even after completion, Global Care continues its responsibility for the projects: contact is maintained with the project leaders, and a member of the organization or a Knorr-Bremse employee visits the site.

There follows a table with the principles on which KB Global Care bases its work.
