Knorr-Bremse Global Care is supporting the Tuanan Elementary School in the heart of the Indonesian rainforest.

At just under 10 percent, the illiteracy rate in Indonesia is relatively low, but that is the average figure for the country as a whole, and the figure for the sparsely populated island of Borneo is likely to be considerably higher.

Tuanan Elementary School, which is being supported by Knorr-Bremse Global Care, is situated in Kalimantan, in the interior of the heavily forested island, and is accessible only by boat. Knorr-Bremse Global Care is supporting the school for a year because it has received no funding from the Indonesian government since August 2008.
