Rebuilding of the school Paiyagala, with currently 180 pupils. The former schoolhouse was completely destroyed. The new schoolhouse was further relocated in the inland and will initially have 10 class rooms. The foundation allows an expansion to a total of 4 stories each with 10 class rooms.

On July 18th 2005 the work was started on the foundations. The first stage of building (five classrooms for pupils attending the classes 1-3) was inaugurated on February 7th, 2006. A further five classrooms were opened on May 19 2006 during Julia Thiele-Schürhoff's visit and are now available for use.
