Sri Lanka - Rebuilding of a secondary school

Rebuilding and renovation of the State Secondary School for approx. 300 pupils, the majority coming from poor fishermen and worker families. One of the two school buildings with its entire contents was completely destroyed due to the immediate location next to the sea, the second building had to be renovated.

The new building provides eight class rooms and work rooms as well as the respective sanitary installations. Knorr-Bremse Global Care has supported an important part of the completion of the construction work, furnishing and fitting out of the school (with pieces of furniture) as well as maintaining the structures for the coming years.

The completed school building in October 2007.
