The Ruhunu State Receiving Home in Galle is a state-owned orphanage for 35 children, 5 of which are disabled aged between 4 weeks and 5 years. The orphanage was in a very poor state before the tsunami and more children had to be accepted following the flood wave. Knorr-Bremse Global Care supported this orphanage with a generator, that supply electricity to this orphanage as well as to two other children's homes.
