The "Youth without Drugs" team.
Knorr-Bremse Global Care has funded the Ashoka Youth Initiative in Berlin and Brandenburg.
The "Youth without Drugs" team is determined to get the message across to young people in the Kreuzberg district of Berlin that doing drugs is stupid. Young Kreuzberg residents Haider (18), Enis (18), Mohammad (17) and Said (17) organize workshops with experts that aim to educate young people about the dangers of taking drugs and show them alternative ways of spending their time – for example by getting actively involved in organizing their own music events. 34 further teams are supporting the Ashoka organization in implementing their ideas on tackling this social problem.
Ashoka also instructs voluntary trainers – usually themselves students and trainees – in how to advise and support the young people in realizing their ideas. Three trainees at Knorr-Bremse Berlin have already received instruction as trainers.
Knorr-Bremse Global Care funded the webpage for an on-line competition in Brandenburg and the start-up for all 34 teams.
