In recent years the Indian health system has improved enormously – partly thanks to the setting up of health centers in many villages. But India is a large country, and there is a huge need for such provisions.
That is why Knorr-Bremse Global Care is constructing a health center for up to 7.500 people living in the area around the city of Sahanagar, in the West Bengal district of Burdwan.
From October 2010 onwards, the inhabitants of Sahanagar will have access to high-quality primary healthcare. The new center will offer basic medical care, and includes a dispensary and an outpatient service. To ensure that patients living outside the city also have access to the provisions on offer, a mobile outpatient service is also being set up.
