Lesja Dmytriwna Dykun, director of the social welfare administration in Iwano Frankiwsk, next to the new bus
Knorr-Bremse Global Care has presented the charitible organization DYWOSWIT with a bus designed for disabled access.
There are no homes for the disabled in Ivano-Frankivsk, despite the fact that an estimated 700 disabled children and young people live in the city and surrounding region. Currently an old kindergarten is being used as a therapy center for 28 of them, with two retired teachers voluntarily looking after the three to twenty-year-olds, teaching them to read and write as well as doing painting, embroidery and knitting with them. Some of the children are taken in at night by ten families who themselves have disabled children.
To enable the children and young people to be adequately transported to and from their foster homes, Knorr-Bremse Global Care has donated a bus.
