Support of the Sri Lanka Children's Trust & Arudpany orphanage
Project description:
Financial support of the Sri Lanka Children's Trust with focus on the Arudpany orphanage south of Batticaloa, where 30 orphans between the ages of 4 and 20 are supervised at present. All children have survived the tsunami, because they were visiting a Christmas fair in the inland at that time. So far, Knorr-Bremse Global Care has not only purchased a three wheeled motor scooter but has also paid for modern communications equipment (telephone, computer for bookkeeping). Furthermore, financial assistance was given to provide English lessons to the orphans.
Location: Navat Kudah, south of Batticaloa.
Status: Project start: February 2006. The infrastructural measures are finished. The running costs are paid by Knorr-Bremse Global Care.
